SKETCH TO ILLUSTRATION | While visualizing how I wanted this character to look, I wanted him to feel like shapes being stacked on one another. I used very masculine shapes to come to an overall design for him.
Towards the end I drew inspiration from businessmen of the 1940's, they're actually quite fashionable.

Model Building | Here you can see how this 2D looking animation was built within a 3D space. I utilized lots of gradients and rounded shapes to make this piece visually appealing.
This short animated film takes place in NYC 1940. A man is on his break from his office job, he decides to enjoy it by having a cigarette outside. As he stands there observing and feeling the cool autumn afternoon weather, he changes his ways in that moment. Throwing his cigarette to the floor and putting it out, he ventures out to go about other things during his office break.

I haven't experimented doing more minimal stuff in a 3D space and this project was my way to experiment with that. Everything you see is actually 3D! I also wanted to experiment with gradients and textures, thus I added this grain effect to give more movement to the piece overall.
